  Truck Pulling Clutch Systems

  

  SINGLE DISC METALLIC

RAM Clutch systems for light duty truck pulling are based on the long style clutch assembly. For light duty pulling where limited 'slip' in the clutch is required, a long style pressure plate with counterweighted levers is used in conjunction with a six paddle Rametallic disc. This setup will provide moderate increases in holding power on the low end, and the centrifugally weighted levers will add more clamping pressure as the engine RPM climbs. Use a light duty pulling clutch for applications where the vehicle is still street driven or is occasionally used in competition.  For higher horsepower applications, please see the sintered iron clutches below.

 

   SINGLE AND DUAL DISC CLUTCH SYSTEMS

As with RAM specialty drag race clutches, RAM truck pull clutches are custom assembled for your specific application. Based on the eleven inch long style design, these units feature a heavy gauge steel cover with welded spring guides, and a steel pressure ring. Flywheels are available in 30 or 40 pound weights, as well as billet aluminum. The clutch can be set up with either 5135 or 5191 compound iron discs in splines up to 1 ½-10. Single disc 'slipper' style clutches can be used with engines up to 800 horsepower, or where very limited slipping is desired. The same quality components are used to assemble our single disc iron clutches are used in RAM dual disc pulling clutches. Units can be assembled with your choice of sintered iron disc materials and flywheel weight. Dual disc clutches will allow a more controlled slip as the vehicle comes out without severe wear or every round maintenance. Dual disc clutches are built to fit either stock depth (6 ¼ inch) or deep bellhousings ( 7 ½ or greater). Please specify when ordering. This clutch is suitable for applications over 700 horsepower or where additional slipping may be required.
